| I started to forecast the storm 3 days before it it. I forecasted the storm to be relatively moderately-strong. The final strength turned out to be a strong storm. The main cold front was a dry one, bringing very light sprinkles. As the day progressed, thunderstorms popped out. The storm travelled from Bakerfield to the entire Los Angeles county. The storm was a severe one. Radar showed tornado vortex signatures when it hit Temple City. A tornado warning was issued for Temple City. Whether or not is was an accual tornado, winds dramatically picked up within the potential tornadic area from 15 mph to over 35 mph. Gusts quickly grew to over 50 mph. The severe thunderstorm made its was to Diamond Bar and Anaheim. Heavy rain and marble-sized hail fell in those affected areas. Since there were possible tornadoes, the category had to rise to strong. If there were tornadic damage it would be categorized as a very strong storm. |
