This storm verified as a moderate storm even though there was some heavy rain. There storm broke off a cold front and slid down to Southern California. At around 8:00 AM on the 19th, rain was already moving into Venutra County. There recieved some moderate rain. About 12:00 PM the rain moved into the Hollywood, Malibu, and LAX areas. Of course, mountains of those ares got some snow. There storm's cold front was not a solid band of rain. Instead the band was actually scattered showers. At around 1:00 to 2:00 the rain moved into the San Gabriel Valley. Meanwhile, a heavy thunderstorm moved into the LAX-Santa Monica areas. The thunderstorm brought hail and heavy rain in those area. At around 4:00 PM the rain was moving out of the forecast area. Some places recieved almost half an inch of rain. Then, on Friday, the back-end of the low pressure system was moving into the southeast portion of the Los Angeles County bringing with it some light sprinkles of rain. |
