About Me, continued

I was so proud of myself for the straight A's! When I looked at my report card I almost started crying! My teacher was so happy for me she let me go to the office and show the principal, who let me call my parents and tell them! I was so happy. That was the first time I got straight A's, and for the rest of the year I got all straight A's. I graduated Highschool in June of 1998, which was when I was supposed to with HONORS! I got awards for "Highest Academic Achievement" in one class and "Highest Average" in 2 classes and for a 4.0 GPA that year! :) It felt so incredibly AWSOME to walk across that stage and get my diploma! I couldn't even say "Thankyou" to my principal in fear I would start crying. I just couldn't believe that after doing so poorly in my other school, and getting pregnant my freshman year in highschool that *I* was graduating, and my dear little girl, then almost 3 years old was in the audience watching me do this! I had all the odds against me and I beat them! I can't really tell you how proud I was- I was bursting!

Since then I have been a SAHM. It has been very nice. I still live with my parents. Right now I am saving for a car, and then I would like to move out. Eventually I would like to go back to school but right now I am concentrating on getting out on my own with my daughter and getting her into school. I do child care in my home for money. I am trying to decide on whether to conitinue babysitting or to go out and get a job somewhere else. I really want to work with children. When  I get older I would like to be a foster parent. I also want to help other teen moms. I want them to know it is not the end of the world. I want them to know that we are better then people give us credit for. I want the world know that teen parents CAN BE good parents. I am not saying I think teens should get pregnant, God no- wait girls- but those that already are pregnant need help, not ridicule.

Here is a page I made with links to pages with Teen Pregnancy Statistics. I hope that girls can read these sad statistics and decide to beat them.  Here is a page with some listings of Alternative High Schools throughout the US.  I am going to keep adding things on teen pregnancy and on pregnancy in general. Keep checking back for more and more updates!
