A Solders' poem

Apparently with no surprise
The soldier opened up his eyes.
"Have you come for me?" he said.
"Of course!," said Death " for you are dead."

"I never saw the Eiffel Tower
or a hurricane in full power.
Can't I have just one more day?
If it's money you want, I can pay!"

"Money nor pleas will stay my hand,
not even a high school marching band.
I will do my job and collect your soul,
then you must start out upon your goal"
