Rocket

Rocket can be launched because of very hot exhaust gas gusting out of the rocket at very high speed. This cause an enormous momentum acting downwards. From The law of momentum conservation, we know that there will be an equal but opposite momentum in the system in order that the total momentum is zero. Therefore this equal but opposite momentum pushes the rocket upwards and there our rocket is launched!

Interested in making a rocket? You can try making water rocket and launch it. Wow! How exciting!
