This activity is courtesy of Discovery Toys, Inc. This activity can be used with the Measure Up Cups (see below) to measure, pour, and stamp the ingredients and dough. These cups are great at teach kids basic mathmatical concepts, like measuring, volume, weight, sorting, addition, subtraction, and basic multiplication.
YOU WILL NEED:
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
1 cup of water
3 dessert spoons of cooking oil
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Food coloring, optional
Mix all ingredients together. Add a few drops of food coloring if you prefer. Keep mixing ingredients until all lumps have been blended. Put the mix in the saucepan and cook it very slowly over medium heat. When the dough starts to come away from the side of the pan, remove it from the heat.
NOTE: Experiment with different scents using vanilla and peppermint extract. You can also use differnt flavors of Kool Aid for different colors or scents.
