BiographyLucio Dalla was born on March 4th 1943 in Bologna. At the age of six he already played the accordion and when he was 14 years old he learned to play the clarinet. His debut in the music world was in 1964, thanks to Gino Paoli, an Italian singer and song-writer, who made of him the first Italian soul singer. 1970 was the year of his first success as a composer with “Occhi di ragazza” (Girl’s eyes) interpreted by the Italian singer Gianni Morandi. The year 1971 marks his irresistible ascent. At the festival of the Italian song in Sanremo he presents “4-3-1943”, known as “Gesù Bambino” (Jesus the Child). The single sells, in Italy only half a million copies. After that he produces “Piazza Grande” (Main Square), “Il gigante e la bambina” (The giant and the little girl), “Itaca” and his masterpiece-song, “Caruso”, recognized as one of the most beautiful songs ever written in the history of contemporary music. |
The 2002 is the year of “Luna Matana”. The title is inspired by an inlet of the Tremiti islands in Southern Italy, place always loved, like Milo, at the foot of the Etna volcano, in Sicily. This last album represents Dalla’s return to his most classical dimension, his great inspiration: clear, absolute, mother of masterpieces such as “Kamikaze” and “Siciliano”.

This project is intriguing because it gives us the chance to communicate with teenagers from all over the world, to transmit and spread our musical culture in many countries, to learn about our cultures and share opinions on common topics. The song we have chosen is “Piazza Grande” by the Italian singer and song-writer Lucio Dalla. The reasons in selecting this song are, mainly, the following: “Piazza Grande” is a song which speaks of the conditions of tramps who live on the margins of big cities without the consolation and warmth of a family, missing every comforts, their only companion being their own freedom. The problem of solitude is not the feeling of tramps only, but it concerns us teenagers too, who, even if we have all that they lack we often suffer from the absence of dialogue with our parents, thus begging affection and care and dream to be free. |

John Lennon’s LifeJohn Winston Lennon was born on October 9th 1940 in Liverpool, England. His parents got divorced when he was three years old. In 1945 John remained with his mother Julia who died in 1958 in a car accident. John succeeded to persuade his aunt to buy a guitar to him. John’s first group, in 1955, was called “The Quarrymen”. The Quarrymen appeared at youth clubs and school parties and sometimes the audience started to fight because they didn’t like their music… It was Ivan Vaughan who introduced John to his friends, Paul McCartney, in 1957. After that, the story is known to everybody: John became, together with Paul, the undeniable leader of the Beatles. He was assassinated on 8th December 1980 in New York. It was a very cold morning in New York, on that December day. It was about 11p.m. when a boy got near John, the same boy John wrote on autograph to a few hours before. It was a moment: Lennon’s round glasses got broken and his body covered with blood in front of the Dakota building, where he lived. Twenty-two years have passed after that tragic night which took away the Beatles’ mind. Still John’s memory never fades. |

Comment and motivations on choosing this songIn spite of his tragic death, John Lennon’s songs continue to live because his texts inspire peace and spirituality that are absent today. Among his songs there is Imagine. It was written in 1971 after his separation from the Beatles, the band he was a member of. This song speaks of peace in the world, and involves everybody to be brothers without distinction of language, religion, sex. Lennon, in the song, invites us to share all the world, so that it will become one: this song doesn’t regard us directly, but involves all the world and for this reason this song seemed the right one to be chosen for this project. We want to launch a message through this song:” Everyone must live their life in peace, without greed, hunger, possession, racism, without killing and wars”. We don’t want to imagine it, we want to live it because with the collaboration of all the people and their reciprocal respect this is possible. |

No one but you (ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG) ”. |
BiographyEverything started in 1972 when a group of musicians, named Queen, formed by Freddy Mercury ( singer), Brian May (guitarist), Roger Taylor (percussionist), and John Deacon (bass-guitarist), were discovered by a certain Roy Thomas Baker, who committed himself with the task to let them have their first music contract . It was this way they recorded their first album, “Queen”. After it many others followed and all of them met an extraordinary success like “Sheer Heart Attack” which was a big hit all over the world. In 1977 the Queen decided to drastically turn away from their past by abandoning their “glam” costumes. A year later they stirred up a scandal by publishing a video with girls completed naked, but which led them to sell the astonishing figure of 45 million records. From 1986 to 1986 the group is silent till they publish another album which catapulted them to the top of the charts all over the world. From that moment the Queen had to face the prejudices of people who criticised their way of being as well as a supposed illness which had hit Mercury. The group continued to deny everything, but in 1991 published their last album, “Innuendo” to which Freddy Mercury participated till the end. “The show must go on” is taken from this famous album. Text rich in feelings can be defined as Freddy Mercury’s last will. In a well known interview he revealed to be affected by AIDS, making any denial useless. He died on 24th November, the day after that interview. The Queen continued to record albums in which had started with Freddy but never completed or published, among them the song “ No one but you (ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG) ”. |

…I QUEEN ESISTERANNO!!!!! |
motivations
What do we hope to find on our way? This is the first question that has mostly motivated our choice, since we do not even know what the future will reserve to us and if we will have the courage, as Freddy Mercury had, of facing death with the smile in his lips. He knew that death would have stayed around the corner waiting for him, but wearing a mask, he succeeded in facing the prejudice of the people, thus conquering once more the desire to live. There aren’t words to express the intensity of Queen’s songs, but we would like to remind just a sentence taken from the album “Innuendo”: “UNTIL THE SUN WILL BE IN THE SKY, AND THE DESERT WILL BE IN THE SAND, UNTIL THE WAVES WILL AGITATE IN THE SEA AND WILL LICK THE EART, UNTIL THERE WILL BE THE WIND, THE STARS AND THE RAINBOW, UNTIL THE MOUNTAINS WILL CRUMBLE TO FORM LOWLANDS…” ...THE QUEEN WILL EXIST!!!!! |

In
Regina Nera”. Da
quel giorno l’interesse sui Queen è
oniriche, reminiscenze classicheggianti rivivere attraverso
preziosismi
pochi. A
ogni pezzo quel sigillo tanto presente quanto effettivamente sottile e indecifrabile
minaccioso. Tali
elementi emergono in modo spontaneo, mai prefabbricato o forzato in
Pautopoiesi quintessenziale dell'incondizionato idilliaco
"si"' dei
sensi.

oniriche, reminiscenze classicheggianti rivivere attraverso
preziosismi
pochi. A
ogni pezzo quel sigillo tanto presente quanto effettivamente sottile e indecifrabile
minaccioso. Tali
elementi emergono in modo spontaneo, mai prefabbricato o forzato in
Pautopoiesi quintessenziale dell'incondizionato idilliaco
"si"' dei
sensi.

After engaging David Gahan, the group abandoned the guitars to the synthesizers and became a famous electronic band. Thanks to this setting the D.M. were able to conquer a very loyal audience just after a year from the date of their formation and signed a contract for MUTE RECORDS. After a tour in England and around Europe Vince Clarke abandoned the group and was substituted by Alan Wilder. On June 1st 1995 the keyboard-percussionist Wilder decided to leave the group. Andy, David and Martin have continued together. This group, from 1981 to 1997, has been able to sell more than 52 million records. |

MOTIVATIONSAfter many researches we have decided to analyse a song by Depeche Mode (people are people) because it invites us, young people, who live in a world where it is easier to act without first thinking and then feeling sorry, to be more sympathetic and open to listen to. We must not stop before the little adversities, but we must always go beyond our subjective knowledge. Today, more than ever, we need to turn away from the culture of violence to the culture of peace and it is necessary that man realises how useless it is to discriminate some populations, how accepting the others can help to fight intolerance. Often man is pushed to act according to prejudices and not by listening to their heart. |

People are peoplePeople are people so why should it be you And I should get along so awfully So we’re different colours And we’re different creeds And different people have different needs It’s obvious you hate me Though I’ve done nothing wrong I never ever met you So what could I have done I can’t understand What makes a man Hate another man help me understand People are people so why should it Be you and I should get along so awfully Help me understand Now you’re punching and you kicking And you’re shouting at me I’m relying on your common decency So far it hasn’t surfaced But I’m sure it exists It just takes a while to travel From your head to your fist I’ cant understand What a man Hate another man Help me understand. |

Everyone
makes one mistake
One more time for old time´s sake
One more time before the feeling fades
One that´s born of memories
One more bruise you gave to me
One more test just how much can I take
You´re not the one,
but you´re the only one who can make me feel like this
You´re not the one,
but you´re the only one who can make me feel like shit
Something never meant to be
Everything you meant to me
Wake me when this punishment is done
Those who try and get away
From the one who gets away
Someone´s always someone else´s one
You´re not the one
but you´re the only one who can
make
me feel like this
You´re not the one
but you´re the only one who can
make
me feel like shit
You´re not the one
but you´re the only one who can
make

You´re not the one
but you´re the only one who can
make

Until the end of time In another life
Until the day I die
Just save it up for one more try
Save it for the next goodbye
We go on again off again on again off

A
a pessoa,
cotidiano.
How
you would analyze that stretch from the song:

Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man I have to be
I'll take a breath, take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life
With arms wide open
Com
We await an answer of you and the song that we choose for our appreciation. Kisses for everybody and

eu
disse, posso te levar para casa
onde
poderemos estar sozinhos?
E
ele estava comigo, yeah, comigo
Cantando
a mesma velha musica.
And
you ? have some music that marked some meeting, or approach that became a more
more long relationship?
We
expect that
has
liked and we await contact.

Herói
Eu

E

No
no
comportamento e modo de pensar das pessoas.
