I am with Molly's parents, here to watch and listen to one of my closest friends as she follows her dream.
Molly is more than just background music. Her repertoire spans six decades- something for every age group.
She also writes her own lyrics, which she shares with her audiences in addition to the cover versions of songs by other artists.
Audience members stopped their conversations to watch and listen to this 18 year olds powerful vocals and guitar --- although she's played less then five years. Her influences include such all-time great guitar artists as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan as well as Karl Logan, with whom she studies, and who always makes a point of coming to see her perform.
Shea still maintains her prized Beatle connections by receiving e-mails from friends at Abbey Road Studios in London and from friends of the John Lennon Songwriting Tour bus in Los Angeles who express good wishes on performance nights, tell her to " Rock the house, Molly" And rock the house she does.
A news article onces headlined her as " Next Big Thing", and now she's out there proving that to be true. After watching the show, its obvious Auburn is not her last stop. Shea has obtained a diverse following and has performances booked right through fall, with invitations to perfrom through upstate New York. She also recently entertained out journalism class while taping a segment for Maroon Morning Madness, shown locally on channel 4. Molly Shea is not to be missed.
