Zion National Park, UT
(December 2002)
This photograph was taken on the first day of a winter trip to Zion National Park. It had started snowing earlier in the day and I had to interrupt one of my earlier hikes. Rather than put a damper on my picture taking, the snowstorm was actually a wonderful chance to take some dramatic pictures. This one is probably my favorite of the day, the snow on the tree limbs, the fog and the hint of red rock in the background all combine for a truly magnificent photo.
