Canyonlands National Park, UT

This photograph was taken at Mesa Arch in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park, UT. The arch is located right on the edge of a plateau overlooking a deep valley. On this particular day the valley below was completely filled with fog. In this view through the center of the arch, you can see the layer of fog and the first hints of morning light providing a brilliant splash of color.
