I absolutely LOVE to quilt although I'm not that great at it. Quilting allows me to be creative and work with colors without the mess of paint and also produces wonderful snuggly, soft treasures that bring pleasure to many. I can put it down when I need to and come back when I have time which makes it an excellent kid-friendly activity. My oldest daughter is learning to hand stitch right now and I think soon she'll be hooked on quilting too!
I started the Grandmother's Flower Garden in December 2000 and keep it around for a hand project to take with me on road trips. It is English paper-pieced, put together by hand(whipstitched), a great project for someone who isn't all that comfortable on a machine. The Carpenter's Wheel,or Snowflake Crystal as it was named when I came across it on a calendar, was completed in December of 2003 and is totally hand-pieced and quiltied. I'm currently working on several different quilts and have lots of UFOs and WIPs in various stages of completion. The Pale Star is my first pieced quilt that wasn't just squares and I didn't really know what I was doing, "what's a 1/4" seam??", so don't look too hard at my points!LOL I'm going to finish it as a wall-hanging for Ryan. Anyway, hopefully I can get some quilting links up here someday(hahaha). here's a few links to my other quilt pics.... Applique Layout
