Girl Seagull: It’s Cold!
Boy Seagull: No, it’s not! It’s warm.
Girl Seagull: No, I believe it is cold!
Boy Seagull: Are
you kidding – it’s roasting!
Girl Seagull: Freezing!
Boy Seagull: Roasting! (Start to fight making seagull sounds)
Girl: Ah, look at those lovely
seagulls. They are so beautiful!
Boy: I left my gameboy behind! Ah!
Girl: You are meant to be enjoying nature
not worrying about your stupid gameboy!
Boy: I wonder where I left it? On the bus? Or at school?
Wind: Blowing, blowing, blow –
Girl: Whew! Cold …
Boy: Nah, it feels good.
Boy Seagull: That’s some warm wind
Girl Seagull: Sea breezes are so cold – so quit
ruffling my feathers!
Boy Seagull: Nope.
Roasting …Look you could have me for tea.
Waves: Swish, sway! Swish, sway!
Waves: Swish, sway
Wind: Blowing, blowing
Waves: Swish, sway! Swish sway! (Each
time getting faster and louder)
Seagulls notice the wind and waves and squawk then scream ‘Tidal Wave!’ then squawk some more.
Girl: What a racket – what are those bird
laughing at?
Boy: Wish I had my gameboy, nothing
interesting to see here.
Girl: I think those seagulls would put me
off living here!
Boy: Those birds are r-e-a-l-l-y
wacky! I wish I had my game … whoa!
Girl: What?
Boy: Look!
Girl: uh-oh! Oh-no!
Boy: Cool!
Waves: Swish,
sway!
Wind: Blow, blow!
Boy: Cool, It’s gonna go over Waterfront Hall! Now, we’re getting some action!
Girl: What?! (Shaking in fear)
Boy: I
think the Lagan is really great! Uh-oh!
(To the waves) You don’t scare me!
Boy: Run!
(Girl still frozen) Run! (Girl faints & Boy
Picks girl up)
Sailor: Hey, what’s all that noise? Someone
needs to mind their manners. Hey, you
two kids need to stop that! Right this
instant! I said … Hey, what’s that
shadow? (Looks behind him) Whoa, well, Blow me down!
Wind: I’m trying to!
Waves: We are getting bigger and bigger!
Wind: Whew!
I’m tired out! Nearly winded! All this blowing – (puffs out a few
wimpy breaths) I’m done – that’s it – I can’t blow anymore (dies down)
Waves: Getting
bigger and big – and smaller? Noooooo. (Dies down)
All: Whew! (Relived and smiling)
Boy Seagull: T-i-d-a-l
W-a-v-e! (Girl seagull hits him)
(All have shocked face. They look behind them. Boy Seagull snickers.)
Boy and Girl: Those
birds!
