My Home Tree I have seen you In seasoning stages For five years You were my home tree You would lend me a strong arm to swing on every day I never wanted to hurt you So I left you alone to whistle to the skies of pain Yet you were still my home tree Since I left you seven years ago I have left you my childhood swing You can have my troubles Since you are my home tree So I ask you, "How are you?" You'd say, "I'm a like a demolished house being ripped away from this earth" "I'm so sorry," I would say Because you are my friend and my home tree I lose my grip, hearing your pain I hug you for the last time, to heal your loss I love you forever, to keep you alive Because I care and you are my home tree "Thank you for sharing your happiness with me," you'd say I would cry for your life, knowing there's not another living spirit like you I would shout for your unheard voice to travel everywhere Because you are my only hope, for you to still be my home tree.
