So You Would Like a Saint??
First of all good choice, Saint Bernards are known for their kind temperment, and easy going ways.  Saint Bernards were never used as a "dog of war" and there for have never been used in violence or killing.

What you first need to consider is, do I have the time?  Saints (like all dogs) need a lot of time and attention, they are like children and crave attention.  They do slobber and shed, so if you have a phobia of hair or slobber - get a bichon.

One thing to consider is, there are a lot of dogs who need homes out there, and although a puppy may sound appealing, these full grown dogs, are currently living in kennels, or rescues all over the place.  I was a rescue dog, I was beaten and stabbed, and I will never forget the day my Mom came and took me out of that mess.

Before you make your decision, check out the rescue pages, talk to your vet and see if he/she knows anyone who has a Saint they don't want anymore, call the shelters in your area.  Although we might need some extra work, it will be worth it in the end.

If you change a dogs life, we will never forget it.
