Chapter 14
Adrea was sitting next to Sarah and JC. Half the time JC would be talking on his cell phone, Sarah would be in some kind of play full fight with one of the guys. This time it wasn�t Justin she was playfully fighting with, it was Chris.
�Hey, stop it I�m trying to talk on the phone here.� JC said slapping Chris� hand hard.
�You don�t have to hit me.� Chris whined as he sat back and put his arms across his chest.
�Who you talking to any ways?� Sarah asked as she popped a piece of gum into her mouth.
�Someone.� JC mumbled as he started to talk on the cell again.
Adrea sat there, she hadn�t said a word since JC walked into the hotel room 4 hours before. Sarah didn�t tell any one what Adrea had told her. She was thank full that she could trust Sarah with something this big. It made her feel a little better, that someone knew about her daughter.
Adrea�s thoughts were interrupted when her cell phone started to ring.
�Hello?� Adrea asked, she was a little annoyed she didn�t want to talk to anyone.
�Adrea Baxston?� The voice asked over the line.
�This is her.� Adrea said she noticed JC was listening to what was going on with her and the phone call.
�Hello, Miss Baxston, we here at ABC would like to interview you, we here you just got a job with the group *NSYNC. You are their personal reporter. Let�s say you be at ABC studios at 1pm?� The lady asked in a nice tone.
Adrea sat there holding her cell phone to her ear. Her mouth dropped open to form the shape of an O.
�Why, of course I�ll be there at 12:50.� Adrea said a little shocked.
How did ABC find out about her? What were they going to ask? How long would it last? She had so much work to do, but it was ABC for crying out loud, who would turn that interview down?
�So what do you think?� Sarah asked looking at Adrea. Her blonde hair was hanging in her face and she was chewing her gum with her mouth open.
�Um, what did you say Sar?� Adrea asked
�She asked you if you were going to go with us over to California next week?� Justin laughed
�Yeah, if you haven�t forgot I do work for you, I have to go with you where ever you go when you guys are working.� Adrea rolled her eyes.
She hadn�t heard about any trip to Cali. She just wanted to jump for joy, and scream out.
�It�s not for work.� Sarah said slightly nudging Adrea
�It isn�t?� Adrea asked
�Nope, we like to hang there. Justin has a fly house he bought a few months ago. I like it, I already have my bedroom there.� Sarah smiled sitting back.
�You�ve been there already?� Justin asked raising an eyebrow.
�Yeah, you took me there the day after you signed the papers.� Sarah said flipping her long blonde hair in his face.
Adrea started to ignore them, as they started to argue about what went on that day. She was overly happy. She would be in Cali; she could see her daughter again. It might have only been 2 weeks. To Adrea that 2 weeks seemed more like 2 years.
�When are we going to leave for Cali?� Adrea asked holding on to her cell phone with both hands.
�In 3 days on the 7 o�clock flight from JFK airport.� JC said as he pulled her hand into his.
�Sarah?� Joey asked raising an eyebrow.
�What?� Sarah asked looking up at him.
�What was the noise I heard from your hotel room last night?� Joey asked
�What noise?� Sarah and Justin asked at the same time.
�You know, �oh Justin you do it just right�, we all heard you all the way down to Mitch�s hotel room.� Joey half smiled at the conflict he was starting.
�Get a life Joey. Justin isn�t that good.� Sarah rolled her eyes.
Joey�s mouth dropped open hearing Sarah say that. He thought for sure she�d freak out on him making up a lie like that it backfired in his face.
� I�m not that good? WHAT! You said I was the best you�� Justin stopped as he sat back with a loud humph.
�What?� JC said looking at Joey�s shocked face then to his sisters� smile, �Joey you really need to get a life.� He added
�What? You aren�t freaking out about them getting it on.� Joey said a little shocked.
�That is because they weren�t doing anything. STUPID!� Chris said slapping Joey up side the head.
�God would you just leave us alone!� Sarah rolled her eyes as the car pulled to a stop. They were in front of the ABC building.
They each got out. Adrea got out after JC and waited for Sarah so they could go in together.
It was 12:30pm, she thought she�d look around a little with Sarah. Let the guys have time with out girls with them.
�So when are you going to tell JC? Or have you?� Sarah asked as they went walking down a hallway just ahead of the guys.
�I haven�t told him.� Adrea said not wanting to talk about it.
All she wanted to do was get this interview over with, go to Cali and see her baby.
�Why? I mean you two are getting kind of close. Don�t you think he should know, I mean if you two get married I�ll be an aunt to an 8 year old girl! We could go shopping for cloths and toys!� Sarah smiled as she tugged at the bottom of her A&F bright green shirt.
�You think we are that close?� Adrea said, she smiled inside. She was getting closer to him; she hadn�t been with a guy since the day her boy friend was killed.
�Oh come on, I�m JC�s sister for crying out loud. I know what he is like when around girls. He is shy around girls, but with you he isn�t shy around anyone. You do something for him.� Sarah said as she shrugged her shoulders.
Adrea thought about that one for a few seconds. She was just about to say something but Sarah started off again.
�Oh my God! Dre look it is the set �The View�!� Sarah smiled grabbing Adrea�s hand and pulled her towards the doors that were closed. There was a red light on above the sign that read �on air�
�You watch the view?� Adrea asked as Sarah stopped just short of running into the shut doors.
�YES! I was back stage when the guys were on it 2 years ago.� Sarah smiled as the guys walked up behind them.
�Looks like we are late!� Chris shouted looking over to Joey,
Adrea stood there, Sarah�s hand still holding onto her arm. JC and Lance were talking about something, Chris and Joey were yelling at each other. Joey had taken extra time to get ready and they were late leaving the hotel
�I always thought the view was live.� Adrea said as the red light went out and the doors open.
�Nope, it is taped. A day ahead, sometimes the same day it airs.� Lance smiled as they walked into the studio. There was no fans just crew and the women of the view.
�Wait, are you lying?� Adrea asked as Joey and Chris busted into laughter
�YES!� They both shouted out.
�Then what are we�� Adrea was cut off.
�Oh shut up, Dre. We are here to do interviews. The guys are supposed to be on the show next week. We just can�t make it, we have other things to do.� Sarah said
�Yeah like having fun in the sun of Cali.� Justin muttered as Sarah pulled Adrea onto the set.
�This is such a�� Adrea was cut off.
�Adrea Baxston?� A younger lady asked.
�Yes, that is me.� Adrea said looking at her as she walked towards them.
�I won this contest�. To hang with you.� She smiled
Adrea looked at each of the guys, she was confused who had this contest and why hadn�t she heard about it. JC was trying to hold back his smile. Justin was trying to pick on Sarah; she wasn�t having it. Joey and Chris were still arguing about something. Lance was now talking on his ever-ringing cell phone.
�Oh that is cool.� Adrea shrugged as the young girl pulled her away from every one.
Adrea sat in the audience; there wasn�t anyone in there when the guys got interviewed. She hadn�t seen Sarah the whole time they were up on stage. It was already going on 1 o�clock when she remembered she had that interview with ABC. She wasn�t sure for what show it was going to be for.
�Miss Baxston?� A middle aged man asked
�Yes?� Adrea said looking up at the guy in a blue suit
�I�m the producer for the view. Would you follow me.� He asked
�Sure.� Adrea said as she got up and followed the guy. They walked into a different part of the studio where there was a camera and a few other people sitting in a room with a table.
Adrea didn�t know what was going on. Who were these people in front of her? Were they the one interviewing her? How long would this last? What about the guys, she hadn�t told them where she was going.
Adrea took a seat and looked at the faces that were staring at her.
