CHAPTER ONE
"This place hasn't changed at all, The Book Cafe and Lobster Shack are still here," said Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald as she drove into the main part of the town she had called home. Harmony had been her home once. All before the incident that shattered Theresa's hopes, dreams...basically her whole life. While driving, memories, good and bad, of her and Ethan together and her and Ethan not, came flooding back to her along with tears. Tears that were waiting in line for their chance to fall.
When Gwen and Ethan were married, Theresa believed that all was lost. Actually she never went to the wedding. Having to keep her feelings hidden while planning the wedding was almost unbearable if it wasn't for Ethan giving her little rays of hope that they would somehow be together. But being tortured by watching the event that was supposed to be for her and the love of her life and experiencing the plans that she had spent years perfecting was absolutely too much to bear. Theresa still couldn't believe all her wonderful, crystal clear dreams would never come true. She was so sure that Ethan had fallen in love with her. And not Gwen. But why would someone marry a person they weren't in love with? She may have told herself so many times she needed one more day or one more hour but she didn't knowthat SHE was the one that gave him feelings he had neve experienced before. She didn't know that she gave Ethan all that and more.

Wiping away a tear Theresa pulled into the driveway of her old home. Her childhood home. So many memories were stored in those walls. Every room radiated with an unspeakable hominess. "This house..." as she sat in the car in awe she realized she had been sitting there for atleast a half hour. She decided to walk straight in and surprise everyone. No one knew she was coming home fomr Manhattan. "I wonder who's in town."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ethan Crane was walking in the Crane mansion's gardens as he had done so many times since Theresa left and his life, his whole being fell apart. He hadn't realized how much a part of him she was. His Resa...thinking back he remembered the first time he kissed her. It was in this very spot, he thought. She had just finished work for his mother and she was taking a walk in the gardens. I remember it all so well, he thought smiling to himself. She was strolling along the path and I was standing by the window watching her. She was so beautiful. Like an angel. Something was drawing me toward her. And before I knew it I was outside, as close as possible without her seeing me. She had this feel about her. She made me come alive. I had never felt anything like it. Gwen never made me feel this way. Gwen was cold and rigid. But Theresa...oh Theresa. She was warm and inviting when I pulled her to me. The look in her eyes, I realized, meant everything to me. She had this sparkle, this light, that was almost never extinguished. I remember it like it was yesterday, the feel of her lips against mine, the electricity that coursed through my body. She was my other half. She completed me. She felt perfect in my arms. But for some reason I pulled away, he thought. "I PULLED AWAY! Why did I do something so stupid?" Ethan screamed.
He fell to his knees and sobbed. He had lost the one constant thing in his life. He didn't even know where she was. He'd never find her.
"She'll never know..." cried Ethan.
