Welcome to my Photography Web Page. Here, I want to show my motivation in photography, what kind of photography I like, some of my shots and other things...
Well, I still didn't manage to get a good scanner, so the photos below aren't representative of my work (yet). Still, if you want to kill some time, have a look at them!

Photography, apart from its obvious use as a powerful means of expression, can be also used to create art. It differs from other more classical manifestations of art in that one must use technology, but as everybody likes to say, a good photograph comes from the photographer and not from the camera. A photograph can express our impressions in a way that, say, a painting or a sculpture cannot, since a photograph can be taken in less than one second, and one can make several `drafts' in short time. A photographer's intuitions can therefore be expressed almost instantly. In painture or sculpture one needs to concentrate during a certain time. In photography this is not necessary, though some of the best shots have actually been taken after a long preparation.
What I enjoy most is outdoor photography, mainly landscape, nature and travel. Actually, what I like is to go out and enjoy myself taking photos. I may prepare a trip months ahead so as to be on the spot when something is likely to happen. I also like the `logistic' side of outdoor photography, always thinking ahead. I've had very good afternoons at home preparing some specific trip, believe it!. Still, I must recognise that some of my best shots are the result of sheer luck or just a moment of wild inspiration, though sometimes I was on the spot because I knew something interesting was likely to happen - the fine light after a storm, for example.
I detest darkrooms (I'm a wee claustrophobic, so to speak), and colour photography is what really satisfies me. I therefore prefer slides. I'm also experimenting with digital photography because of the enormous possibilities it brings but I'm not yet satisfied with the printed output.
