On May 14, 2003, Daryn and Mark headed out to Location S in Utah to look for some new caves.  Daryn is still a fairly new caver at this point, only going out twice previously with me.  He is catching the excitement of this hobby quickly and we have made it a weekly thing.  Unfortunately, like this morning, we meet at 6:00 A.M in order to make it out at back in time for us to get to work.  Luckily, we both work in the evenings.  On this trip, we didn't find much.  We found one small cave that we couldn't pass through, which ticked us off because we could tell it went on for a little ways.  Another cave we found was very nice though, but since I was using my crappy digital camera, none of the pictures from the inside came out.  We are planning on going back out to get some real pics, exploring some more, and getting some coordinates for some Spanish Mines we found in the area as well.  Enjoy the pics that did come out.
Here is Daryn attempting to make it into the small cave we found.  We had to climb a little to get to it, but it does have potential.  It was very small but we might try to get into it some day.
Here is the view from where we were.  It was a long hike of 35 minutes that led us to these small caves.  It was worth it for the view as we were atleast in higher elevations where larger shade trees abound.  The hill was steep so we needed to be careful not to fall or slide as we could die.
Another view down the hill.  This mountain had some trees on it.  I searched them for any symbols hoping other mines could be found in this location.  I found a few but couldn't find enough to tell much about where other mines might be.
