The Molecule of the Year 2004 was announced at the International Scientific Programme 2004 (ISP 2004) which took place at the Graduate and Continuing Education Building AVR of the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, Iloilo City Campus on December 15, 2004. Twenty four ISMCBPR members from different institutions voted for the molecule of their choice among the

Six Nominated Molecules.



  THE MOLECULE OF THE YEAR 2004
is
the

IMIDAZOLE-4-ACETIC ACID-RIBOTIDE

ISMCBPR (International Society for Molecular and Cell Biology Protocols and Researches, Inc.) Congratulates Dr. George D. Prell and his co- authors for such an outstanding research undertaking. The molecule was newly identified and it has significant roles in two common diseases: hypertension and diabetes.
