***On the Road by Jack Kerouac Everytime I read this book, I want to drop what I'm doing and begin hitchhiking across America. His portrayal of this lifestyle seems so romantic, it almost hurts to not answer this siren call. I always have to remind myself, however, that I won't be finding as many nickel beers as he did if I were indeed to embark on a similar journey.
