Assessment and Evaluation in E-Education
Assessment and Evaluation in E-Education This course focuses on developing the skills necessary to become effective assessors of adult learners. Students learn the fundamentals of traditional testing and explore how to design alternative assessments in an electronic environment. Interpretation of assessment data, strategies for tracking student progress, and communicating results based on clear criteria and standards will be presented. Critical assessment issues facing distance education programs will be analyzed and debated.
The Assessment and Evaluation course has been the best and most useful class to date. We came up with strategies to develop effective Level I, Level II, and Level III assessments. We explored the differences between traditional and alternative assessments, and came up with some excellent strategies in using both of them. Since that class, I've been pushing hard to get some type of standard alternative assessments implemented into our CORE classes. I've been moderately successful to date, and I'll keep trying.
