I’m Marshall Siegel and I currently live in Columbus, OH. While I grew up in the Cleveland area, I’ve also lived in Southern California, Mackinac Island, MI as well as Northern Virginia. I earned my BA in Communication from Ohio State.
I am a training supervisor for the wireless division of Sprint. I do spend a ton of time travelling because my trainers are located across the Northeast. Our company has moved swiftly into distance learning. Two years ago we were 95% traditional, and 5% distance. Today we are about 75% distance. We use a variety of distance learning methods. This includes web based, computer based, asynchronous, self-paced, and synchronous as well as blended learning. I entered this Master’s program in order to stay ahead of the curve, however, I find myself just trying to keep up.
I have also worked for a company called Educational Field Studies. We planned and organized educational field trips for students from all over the country to historical and political destinations which included Washington D.C., New York, Boston and Philadelphia. One of the responsibilities that I thoroughly enjoyed was developing social studies curriculum, and then training our course leaders on delivery methods.
On a personal level, I’ve been married for 7 years, and I have a 7-year-old daughter named Meredith and
2 year old son named Christopher. I enjoy jogging, and I follow all the Cleveland professional sports teams, as well as
Ohio State football.
This is my eight class with University of Phoenix. Based on personal sanity, I usually take a month or so between classes. Although, my last class finished in April and then I decided to take an extended summer break. Here's some info about my classes so far.
