Hello.If you are visiting this site because you picked up a flyer at the BRAMPTON INIE ARTS FEST, congrats and well done. So I was watching this nature show, and there was this bird that I think we could all learn something from. I don't recall its name, but it was a sea gull looking seabird that hunted other birds it's size. Now the only problem was that this bird was a little ill-equipped for killing it's food. Most birds of prey, (Hawks, Owls) use their talons to attack their prey, and rip the shit out of them. But no, not our seagull friend. He uses determination, heart and soul to kill his prey. You see, he has no talons, just flippers. Yes, webbed fucking feet. And yet, he flaps his ill-equipped ass into another bird again and again,trying to grab hold of his victim, until some damage is done. No fancy beak either, just perseverance. So the moral of the story is, don't let your physical imperfections get in the way... Just because you don't have talons doesn't mean you can rip the shit out of birds.

Owen - No Good For No One Now

I really don't know what to say about this album (honestly), because everytime I try describe the quality of the record it just doesn't sound good enough (this is true), or I feel I'm leaving something out (maybe I'm too stupid). It's amazing (now were going somewhere), to say the least. You will hear seven (7, one more than 6) beautifully crafted songs, each telling you a different story (a good story). Mike Kinsella (Vocals/Writes/Drums/Keyboards/Guitars/etc.)
performs this entire album, and leaves us in utter oblivion. The perfect record to fall alseep with someone special (or anyone or no one) next to you. Mike takes his voice to new ranges (like what he did in American Football) that we did not hear on his first release. It's hard to pick a favorite song because there is something intriguing about every track if it's the lyrics, guitar, melody (everything). Sex, yearning, love, apartments, leaving and loneliness are some of the things Mike touches on lyrically throughout the album, giving me (you, us, everyone) something to relate to. He offers even more of himself by including the words to all of the songs with the CD, so we can sing along and pretend that we can hit notes and melodies like Mike does (sadly we fail, but hey, we tried). This album just prooves that everytime Mike picks up an instrument he makes amazing music, as he has been apart of so many great projects over the years (just look at all his successes CaP N' Jazz, American Football, Owls and Joan of Arc). My advice to you is simple, by this cd (Hardcore Soundz in or.'ville) and make it the music you listen to in your car, room, discman, friend's house (my mom says "sharing is nice") and anywhere else you wouldn't mind hearing something phenomenal.
