Quote of the day:

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
Douglas Adams

This weekend we went to Carlisle - because I hadn't been there before! It is a very nice place, and Cumbria is full of sheep and cows indeed. We took the train after work on Friday which made it seem like we were away for ages, like a long holiday.

Saturday we visited  the castle, the museum etc. On Sunday we went to Birdoswald, a Roman fort at Hadrian's Wall.

By the way: still no alcohol for Kerstin - I'm on day 72 today!!

Yesterday I didn't go to work as I couldn't use my left hand - my thumb has become infected and is quite painful. It's better now, but still swollen and I have no idea why...
Today I had to come back because Muriel is off to Maidenhead to get trained for that conference in Milan.
I have now chosen my dates and flight for my Tour d'Europe: Granada, Rome, Paris.  Because I want to go late in the evening, most of the flights are with budget airlines. I'm going to make a weekend of Rome because I've never been to that city before, and this time I will also try to go to the Louvre in Paris. I have been a few times and never felt like queuing!
Hopefully the dates are compatible with any random "signing dates" that Frank may or may not announce some time before Christmas...!
