21/22 January 2006
Quote of the day:
"I'm familiar with the cover, I don't have to read the book."
Richard Thompson
Saturday

12:00  Spent Friday night talking on the phone to Sweden until the early hours, completely pissed! The bottle of frigging Peach wine had maybe not such a good idea...
Forgot to set the alarm, and woke up at 9! Luckily, I still caught the train!

Met John & Amanda at the station, they were on the same train, going to Brighton for one of John's saxophone concerts.

When I arrived in Coventry, the sun was shining really lovely, it was so beautiful, I could have cried! Emotions are running high these days...
I did cry in the cathedral later on. I was quite surprised at myself. I even lit a candle.

What added to the excitement was the fact that I had brought the wrong concert ticket! In the haste I had grabbed the one for Sheffield next week! I contemplated going back to Sheffield and getting the right ticket, then I thought I might try to buy another one. I'm so unfamiliar with the ways of the world! Because I had paid by credit card, they simply reprinted the ticket and I could pick it up at the box office!

The concert was sold out. There where lots of 50-somethings, mostly bold men with beards in T-Shirts. I felt very young.
The lady sitting next to me actually asked: "You're a bit young to be at a Richard Thompson concert, aren't you?!" Well, thank you! But I was obviously born too late...
It was great though! And I'm so happy I'll see him again next week at the Lyceum! He even played Persuasion!

Sunday

12:00  It was foggy this morning, and everything was closed. So I went to the cinema and watched Bare... sorry, Broke Back Mountain.
I think it is a good film. It portraits very few, very strong emotions in very simply pictures, almost like a painting. I love the rawness and violence in how these men expressed their feelings. And the lack of talking. Very stressful!

21:00  I'm back home, and still thinking too much.

I'm afraid I've completely missed "the whale". Bloody whale! It's just ONE animal! I've seen a sick pigeon with only 1 leg today, but there weren't any highly skilled veterinarian rescue teams around...

My Sunday Times horoscope:
Nobody enjoys discussing new ideas and potential changes more than you do. So you'll thrive on the current period of intense exploration and the resulting conversations. Tempting as it is to take these further, it's early days yet. Not until the revelations triggered by next Saturday's New Moon will you even know the full range of your options, much less which would suit your requirements. This gives you carte blanche to explore whatever intrigues you. Usually some wise would would warn you about being impractical. But, as there's no telling what next week will bring, the more far-reaching your investigations, the better.

I don't want to know what my bloody "options" are, as there may be none at all! And my "far-reaching investigations" only embarrass me myself. I want a new brain, please! At least until that New Moon on Saturday, whatever that means!!
But in the meanwhile, I'll install my scanner...

Mhm... OK. I've just spoken to Susan again, and it kind of helps to talk about my current "confusion". Maybe I am taking things too hard. But that's part of the deal, I suppose...

Then again, I can't possibly blame him for trying to be nice to me...!
