Biel/Bienne....

The town has 2 names, or more like 3, in case you're wondering. It's Switzerland, so you get everything bilingual (or quatrolingual). Lovely place it is, too, I must say. I already knew that it was squeaky clean and organised, but I'm beginning to really enjoy the place. Especially the language thing. SO fascinating!

The adventure started on Saturday morning with a trip to Heathrow Terminal 5. Now, in case you're not in the UK, you might not have heard, but read this. National embarrassment and all - but of course nobody cares. You know what the whole problem boils down in the end?! Lack of staff training! Who would have guessed?! And I bet all the senior management were off on their Easter holidays as well... or pregnant.

You can tell I am frustrated at work (again). I seriously do not trust any of our network offices to deliver the kind of quality that is requested of them/they are being paid for. Nobody takes any responsibility, or pride. It's like a kindergarden. Having said that, I also know that we are better than our competitors. At least we have quality control steps in place. But that makes it all even more depressing!

I have been so terrible and grumpy lately. People are such idiots. I just cannot cope with the levels of incompetence I have to face daily. And I am not talking about making mistakes or asking stupid questions -- that's fine! But all of that deliberate sabotage, trying to make project management feel "guilty" for sending out a new job, the withholding of enthusiasm, the lack of diligence, asking for more money but never delivering quality!

I have been feeling like shit the past 2 weeks and I haven't managed to figure out if that was due to a) work stress (I seriously thought I was going to DIE the other week!), b) health problems (I'm drinking again, I feel fat and bloated, I have stomach problems, I cannot use my left hand due to a repetitive stress injury...), or c) George withdrawal.
Tell you what - it's c)! Because today I am feeling fabulous after a lovely weekend in Switzerland. My hand still hurts, I am still swearing at work, I am still feeling fat and ugly, but... it was nice. I am so glad I went. It just have to see him, and to see he's alright.
When I told Sibylle that after seeing the photos from the Switzerland gig 2 weeks ago (where nobody went), I felt like I should have been there because he looked so...forlorn, she said she had thought exactly the same. Bless!

Ok, so Terminal 5 it was. I must admit, I expected to see blood on the floor and people fighting etc. But it was almost... serene. Quiet, not too busy. and my flight to Bāle went on time! Well, it was the ONLY Switzerland flight that went on time that day. They had cancelled the other 5, so I was extremely lucky.
I don't know which flight George was taking that day, but it cannot have been a BA flight from terminal 5. Some clever person must have booked them on a longer but luggage-including flight; possibly to Geneva.
My flight back with EasyJet went smooth as well. I'm a lucky girl!

In Biel, Sibylle and I checked into out hotel and then went for a pizza. the streets of Biel were virtually plastered in flyers of that club. There's not much else happing, I presume!
We got ready whilst an astonishingly bad show of "Wetten Dass...?!" was on TV and arrived at the club at about 11:30. It was  small place, but not as "young" and annoying as we had expected. We withdrew into the bar and had gin & tonics which helped us get into a more elated mood.

Sibylle and I on the internet - we look so "all-knowing", don't we? LOL

Marc Vedo had been added to the set list at the last minute. I guess he fancied a little trip with George?! He's a cutie, and so tiny! LOL
George came of at 1:30ish, and looked just fine and seemed happy to see us. Craig was with him and we waved enthusiastically at each others when I spotted him, but the architecture didn't quite allow for a chat. George started off with a rather instrumental set, so after a while I climbed onto the box and requested "something more vocal". He said "It's just coming up now!" and played Generations Of Love. The rest of the set was great and lively and the crowd enjoyed it, too.

I took loads of photos, but they all look kind of the same. Here are some of the nicer ones.

This MySpace profile I set up for the concerts continues making friends. I'm now also posting photos from DJ gigs. It's nice to be of service. LOL

Facebook is also still running my life - I am playing Scrabble again (trying to win more games than I lose). It keeps me up all night!

Whilst I strictly oppose all physical violence, I think that certain people should be SHOT for the bile the post on the internet. Sorry, I cannot post a link because I don't want to give them an arena.
