I guess writing
daily blog
entries 2 months after the event is cheating, so I won't do
that. Let's
just pick it up from here. There's a photo log below which
illustrates the
last weeks' main topics, and my changing hair
colour... I'm hanging out on Facebook a lot nowadays, and I love those littel "mood updates". I see MySpace is trying to morph its interface into a more facebooky layout. Good luck with that! I've just returned from a short trip with Chris to Redmond and must somehow have been suffering from jetlag because I haven't slept much this week and am knackered. The summit meeting went well however, and it was great to meet all the people so I can start some serious "networking" now which should make my work life much easier. Business cards would have come in handy for the meeting, but of course I haven't got any... In Seattle, Scott took us went to the Snoqualmie waterfall (which was very wet), and a salmon hatchery. It just happens to be migration season and the streams were full of salmons making theitr way upstream from the ocean, back to the place of birth to spawn and then... die! They are huge, and so full of strength! It was amazing to see the fishes jump about a meter and wriggle themselves through the fish ladder steps. Poor things! Not all make it, of course. Nature is cruel and mad! A month ago I
went to
Gothenburg to Susan's small party. All the lovely people from
last time
where there, and everybody was getting drunk except for me and
Dick (who
was drinking but allegedly is immune to alcohol). It was
a somehow
surreal experience... Two weeks ago I
went to
Manchester to meet Marion, Vera and Daniel for a night out on
Canal
street. It wasn't a full night because I had to catch the last
train back
to Sheffield, but it was great to meet them. Last month I've also started kickboxing lessons, which are fun and a great workout. I even have those silly pants now! Next months I'll start a Yoga course at the Buddhist center. This should be enough bodily action for a busy week. The next months will hopefully be busy as well. After a long stretch of no schedule updates, there have now been several gigs announced, all the way through until Christmas. I have booked a couple of flights, but am keeping my fingers crossed because the first venue changes and cancellations are already happening. I am praying it's not another "quiet before the storm" moment. Bolan's Birthday Boogie (London, Caf de Paris) - 30 September 2007
