Quote "It takes guts to put your hand up to risk it all and stand up to the tongue twisters, the campaign of whispers" --Francesca (Richard Thompson) |
On Saturday I had to get up
early for that
Samaritans info session. It's amazing how much you can get done
when you're up before noon! It was a really sunny day, too (now it's
getting cold and windy and rainy again...). The meeting was good, and I filled in an application form. The training takes forever, up to a year! And they only have 3 intakes each year, so if you already know that you haven't got 8 week uninterrupted time for the training sessions in October, the next training won't be before January. That's a bit daft because I already have one October weekend where I'm travelling, and January is not good either. Well, let's first see if they accept me at all. Not being a native speaker is apparently not a problem. Afterwards I went to Archipelago gallery to see TokyoJo's exhibition. Shockingly, I am part of the exhibits! I had been wondering what happened to that fancy-dress photo... It turns out that pixelwitch has saved it for that exhibition. It looks right scary! And I can't remember giving her a model release. ;-) Then I went clothes shopping in Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Lane. That Rio boutique is just fantastic! The prices are cheaper than in high-street shops, and they have so many interesting, colourful things. I have to restrain myself now. I think I have enough stuff for the holiday, and I'm running out of cash. I've also booked another flight -- to Gothenburg for Susan's party end of September. It's annoying that the train to the airport is always the most expensive part of the journey. I haven't booked the flights for Switzerland yet, because it's still kinda early and that weekend might clash with the Samaritans training or a business trip to San Francisco. Of course I haven't booked the flights to Munich either -- I'll leave it until the last minute in case they change their minds AGAIN. |
Harajuku girls
Fabulous! I love the
colours. They even make their eye-colour go with their outfits. What a
dedication! |
