Apparently the British
summer was yesterday. People already complained about the "heat". No
worries, it will rain again tomorrow! I have discovered facebook and have been staring at my status updates for days. There are so many entertaining little applications to add, it's much more elegant than MySpace. But there are just too many social networking sites. It's got to stop somewhere! Facebook is tricky because unlike MySpace you cannot see people's profiles unless they are your friend. I accumulated a whole bunch of friend requests from work colleagues in no time, so I had to make some advertisement and add a couple of George-related people as well. Now it's quite a mixed bunch. New DJ gigs have been announced and I am wondering if I should book flights. The only reason why not to book now (prices are still cheap) would be a cancellation, but I wouldn't know about it until closer to the date... So I guess I'll book now. If something goes wrong, I can move the flights around again. It costs a couple of pounds, but I'm going to need new flights anyway. But the big news are new
concert dates! All in London. Actually, there aren't any set "dates" yet,
just a light at the horizon sometime in late January 2008. I also very
much doubt that there will be ten (10!) dates. I mean: He's not Prince! The Dark Side has been
falling over with glee and illogical accusations that I need not repeat
here. I've even sent Barbara a private message (because I've sworn never
to post again). I think she hasn't even read it... Today I received a message on YouTube from Silvio (the circus one) about my Futurama video! He's got humour, I have to give him credit for that. Last week I had my first counselling session. I spent most of the hour trying to talk the therapist out of wanting to counsel me, but eventually gave in. It will be basically me talking. Nothing new there. I felt like I was giving an interview, and it was quite enjoyable. I'm a bit worried though that she may want to section me... or maybe she will want to switch her area of expertise from eating disorders to "mad stalker fans who have no life". She could do a case study! On Saturday I went to Razor Stiletto, which was good, but as I am not drinking also quite boring in a way. I'll try to go to TokyoJo's gallery opening on Wednesday. Openings are fun, you get free nibbles, and feel like you've done something "cultural". But first, tomorrow, it's Richard Thompson in concert at The Plug! Yes!!
Work has been quiet in some
ways, but stressful in others. Basically, I am stressing. For months I
have been documenting evidence of incompetence that I wanted to send to
Chris. Last week I finally realised what exactly the problem is and what
needs to be changed in the overall processes to ensure that the network
offices produce quality. And today - how spooky! - Chris sent an email
asking people to give him feedback on "process flaws"! Well, he can have
the book I've written about it! Ha! |
