I know you love me, but keep away...
Blind Man

I have 2 days off next week, so here's where my "holidays" start!
I am so knackered tonight I almost collapsed in the supermarket... can't be because I had too little to eat. This is Red Nose weekend, so people brought cakes to sell for charity and I couldn't resist the chocolate brownies...
Noura is having her house-warming brunch tomorrow, and I really should show my face, but I just can't face the loads of food that people bring to such occasions. So I won't be going. I know it's sad...

Mr. Jeremy Healy was supposed to be in town tomorrow, but unfortunately he has injured his back and won't be able to do the gig at The Plug. Sad, but I hope he gets better soon! He is my favourite DJ, he really is.

But here are the really BIG NEWS:
Another one in the office is PREGNANT!! She is already quite far gone and didn't tell anybody. Amanda with her female instincts apparently "guessed" it.
I am shell-shocked. I will be all alone from July!! I am also insulted because I wasn't told.
However, Amanda had a great idea about who should cover, and I think she would be perfect... and would probably also swear a lot! I can't mention names... yet.
We are AGAIN two down in the Project Management department - 3 if you count Craig! You just can't control them...

John and me trips to and from Boulder are booked now. Who would have thought that Denver is so far off the map? I told everybody that I just *might* need to change the return flight if George ends up doing the Canadian tour. They didn't seem too fussed. And just NOW Kristine has had news from Marc Vedo's management: so far they think that George will only join him for 3 dates, probably around April 20.
There are actually some really affordable flights to the East coast, so I could just fly back from Denver as planned, work for 2 days and them set off for Canada again on the Friday.

Craig is already looking forward for me coming over to Boulder. This time we will even have a Saturday night to go out! (The Sunday flights are less than half the price of Saturday's, so it was decided that we'd fly back on Sunday even if that means that we miss 1 working day on Monday.)
We've been working our arses off for MSDN/TN this week. I spent HOURS compiling additional information for the translators to the extent that I basically pre-translated everything for them! Of course they will not even LOOK at it, but what more can you do?
Tonight they were playing stupid again because they didn't know how to use the tools. I simply can't provide the most BASIC training at the last minute. It just can't be my responsibility.
Craig called at 7 PM because he was quite worried that the translations were not up to scratch again, but then we realised that even if he and I still spotted some inconsistencies in the files now it would be too late to fix.
However, the call with the client went really well this week. We're almost mates now! I'm sure they know now that we care, and I've done everything to show them that we are being proactive.

I also FINALLY booked my flight to Vienna to visit Christian.
That was such a difficult one, not only because I was still holding out for SOME new DJ gigs to be announced that potentially would have needed to be squeezed in.
Surprisingly, there are no direct flights to Vienna from North England, and the cheapo airlines all fly so early in the morning and arrive so late at night that I would have had to pay for 2 nights in an airport hotel. British Airways was cheap in comparison, but the train prices have gone up so much already that it would have been 100 Pounds on top just to get to/from Heathrow. Now I'm flying Lufthansa from Manchester, with connections in Germany.
Speaking of DJ gigs, the only other date that we know of now is the Macedonia one. I would very much like to go, because I have never been to Skopje, but the flights are too expensive for me. Especially if the gig is not yet confirmed... Frank is still staying stum.

On the home front I'm a bit scared because mice keep dying in my house!
The other day we came home and Stephen spotted a tiny mouse sitting on the sofa. He was obviously ill (the mouse, not Stephen) because we could easily scoop him up and carry him outside. Nothing compared to the faster-than-sound little rascal that had pestered us a couple of weeks before. Sadly this one died, I found him in the morning.
Today I came home, slammed my heavy bag on the kitchen floor and then noticed a rather large dead mouse about 2 inches from my bag!
Now the question is: Is this still coincidence? Why do they die in the middle of my rooms? How many are lying dead behind my sofa/under my kitchen counter? Did the big one maybe jut die of old age? But why in the middle of my kitchen? Did I accidentally smash the big mouse with my bag? (unlikely)
I have no poison out, and all my food is organic and mouse-friendly. I have ultra-sound pest repelling devices (that are obviously NOT working), but they would not kill anything. Maybe my neighbours have laid mouse poison traps, and all the victims come to die in my house? But why? Very spooky.
I expect to find a boiled rabbit in my wok any time.
I don't mind living things in my house so much. I'm OK with the slugs and the fast little cheeky mice, but the dead ones?! Yuck!
