'NON CONDITIONAL CARING'
Emma is going to see MSDN/TN, and a couple of other more "problematic" clients who are going to shout at us all throughout the meetings. So she is worried it may not be "such a nice first experience" for me. Whatever, LOL!
I
spent half an hour complaining to Emma today about those process changes
that basically prevent me from doing my job - as if it had been
easy before!! I'm quite upset, really, but of course she said that we
will try this-and-that and see...
I said I would quit if we really lose MSDN/TN - because that would mean
we'd lose over 1 million this year and won't make our target and then I
won't get my bonus and won't be able to travel in 2008! LOL
It is really pissing me off at the moment, not because it's difficult, or a lot of work (that's my job!), but because I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel - I really can't see how they're going to improve - and I can't do every fucking thing! My daily impression is that everybody working on my projects is a brainless stupid fuck! There are hundreds of people who are NOT taking responsibility, are NOT taking ownership, are NOT looking after their people - and all the resulting problems are centralised in ME!
Poor Muriel now had to take on all of my non-Microsoft projects and is now completely swamped - is that an improvement?! Apparently all the other projects taken together don't account for half of our revenue so it's "fair", but - hey! We STILL need more people!! I will start taking off some of the query management for RIM and Palm from her again if needed. It's just ridiculous.
Certain folks in Germany are annoying me big time already: How presumptuous can you get?! I am prepared to do them a favour by travelling to Munich and training everybody AGAIN - even though I have been there only 3 months ago!!! - and now they are harassing ME?! Fuck off and acquire some basic management skills first!
Russia have been great as
well today. New biggish job: "No, can't take it. Now, IF WE HAD a second
Microsoft lead, that would be a different situation..." Excuse me?! Why
did spent HOURS on the phone with Marek and Yulian only 6 months ago
trying to come up with a fast-track plan to hire that experienced
Microsoft guy as a second lead?! Where is he now?! "Oh, he's working on
other projects, of course..." Argh!!!! Then book an agency! - "We
can't... YOU do it!"
It's really not worth the nerves. Just book any old idiot and fail the LQS
review! What do I care?! (But I do care... :-/ )
I still need to take 4
days of holidays in March. I've just looked at cheap flights and Krakow
would be a great option - it has museums and stuff and I've never been to
Poland. :-) I want to go on my own though... I'll book in 2 days tomorrow,
and then I still have 2 1/2 days left in case George is doing any
gigs after Australia... Oh, by the way, he has replied to my
Valentine's Day message! :-)
Odessa would be super-good as well, but the airline has no convenient
dates - I'll have to go this year in summer!
