Oops, I think I've forgotten
to write for a couple of weeks! Now it's almost February! What has happened? Lost of work, a new haircut, no new DJ gigs because Coventry was cancelled... The Coventry weekend was
almost spooky. Susan was supposed to come and then spend the Sunday at my
place. So I was cleaning the house, dragging in food and booze, getting up
early on Saturday to prepare everything - when I got a text from her
saying that her flight from Gothenburg had been cancelled due to a snow
storm! What a shock!! And she had so been looking forward to it. But, in
the end it all was for the "best", because the gig didn't happen so she
didn't miss anything and she got her money back from the airline!
We were skyping with Dick the other day and he again asked to be told the "secret" behind our "George obsession". Oh well, didn't I already tell him last time?! It might not be possible to "explain" after all... ;-) I briefly spoke to Christian on the phone, but he was at work and so I didn't have time to invite myself... He's not coming to the concert, what a pity! Neither is Sybille. But apart from those two everybody and their dog are coming!! I just hope I will arrive in time and there will be no snow storms. I don't think I will make use of my hostel bed at all, as I have to talk to soo many people and need to be at Luton airport at 4 AM! George is scheduled to go
to Australia and New Zealand end of February. I don't think that's such a
great plan, but we will see. At least this will allow me to have some time
off work without having to travel to gigs! Haha! I also must go to Munich
again to kick their asses!! Anne is back from maternity leave and now
Resourcing Manager. She called the other day asking me to "train all their
freelancers" which pissed me off big time given that I had been doing
exactly that for a good part of last year! I am also having power
struggles with Chris lately. He hasn't got any clue about MILS, but keeps
interfering with my work. I keep telling him to go away and call me if he
has any issues because I can't be bothered to write long emails! We've
been having long phone calls with long awkward silences because I'm
refusing to delete the shared Extranet account that all the freelancers
are using - a "clear violation of Microsoft security policies". He's
welcome to take on the task of setting up an maintaining hundreds of
individual accounts, but I don't want to be involved. Hallamshire has had the
highest net contribution of all divisions last year, and the highest ever!
No wonder if there's only the few of us doing all the work on unpaid
overtime! |
