Quote of the day:
"HE'S HERE!!!!"

Kristine's text at 9:45 AM
I had a good night's sleep at my lovely hotel and didn't go out sightseeing before 12 PM. I had a quick run around the town centre of Bucharest and it was fun! I wanted to be back before Kristine's arrival because I had promised to share my money with her and didn't want her to be stuck at the hotel without any!
Kristine texted me when she was boarding the plane saying that there was no sight yet of George. I was sure he had to be on her flight because it is definitely the only BA flight to Bucharest so I was getting pretty worried that they might miss the plane! But in the last minute I received Kristine's text (see quote), so I was very relieved -- and jealous! :-)

I had a late lunch of shawarma at a fast food place near the hotel, bought posh German Milka chocolate and then spent most of the afternoon in my hotel room waiting for Kristine and reading Stephen Fry. I actually finished a whole book (The Stars' Tennis Balls) over the weekend, it is a really gripping novel!

Kristine arrived on time and we went out to have a couple of fries at MacDonald's! Apparently she doesn't eat while travelling... We were sharing lots of stories, well -- more stories from her than from me. ;-)

At about 10 PM we set off for the club by taxi -- of an approved non-scam taxi company. We were very early, so we could watch the club fill up slowly, but not completely. I'm sure the whole of the Bucharest High Society had turned up, but there was still loads of space for dancing.

When George finally came on at 1:30 AM, all the press of Romania was there with TV cameras and stuff! I was pissing myself! There were camera men filming camera men filming, and even reporters talking over the noise of the club!

And noisy it was, I was wearing earplugs, but my ears were still ringing in the morning! Bloody heck, it's permanent damage every time, why don't they just turn the music down?! George is getting deaf, too. Not good!

I had fun at the gig, probably because I knew there'd be another one the next day, so the melancholy didn't fully kick in. I tried to take many photos, but I'm just crap at handling the camera. It never flashed when you want it to, so all pictures turned out very random. I did get some nice ones though.

It was a long gig, until 5 AM, so after that we quickly made our way back to the hotel -- in a much scammier taxi! LOL Kristine was quite upset when she realized he charged us six time of what we paid on our way to the club! ;-)

There were soooo many posters in the club, lovely picture, too! But annoyingly Kristine and I weren't fast enough, so at the end of the gig all were gone. Half of Romania had their picture taken with George and a poster signed!
