The neighbour's house has been burgled last night. They walked around the house while Heike and her daughter were sleeping! They also stole a bunch of keys, including the spare ones to my house, so I had to have all my locks replaced today. Heike is really shaken, and so is Stephen... Knock on wood! Work is getting more interesting because I have to do some actual "analyst" work for a change, but today I feel like I have achieved absolutely nothing. All I did was play around with tools that wouldn't do what they are supposed to do. But as nobody else has been able to come up with any better ideas, I guess my resulting files will have to do! Multiterm is such a pile of crap, it is completely not intuitive -- when after an hour I still hadn't succeeded in importing that bloody glossary file, I left swearing loudly and everybody looked really shocked. Now I'm feeling guilty on top of everything... Frank has put up some new dates on the website, including Copenhagen in Norway (??), but I'm afraid I can't afford to go anywhere this month. |

Israel strikes Lebanon Israeli air strikes in Lebanon have killed 53 civilians as Hezbollah fighters fired rockets at towns across northern Israel. Israeli helicopters late on Thursday attacked Beirut airport, setting fuel tanks ablaze, in the second attack on Lebanon's only international air facility. Israel first struck
the capital's airport early in the morning and began enforcing a naval
blockade, expanding reprisals since Hezbollah captured two Israeli
soldiers a day earlier.
