Quote of the day:
"So what would you like today?"

I'm in Seattle! And I have internet access in my room!

Saturday

My flight went via Heathrow, and I was tempted to kneel down and kiss the floor of Gate 8 (where I had met George the month before)...
On the flight from London they put me in the middle seat, even though I had booked aisle! You would have split a family. Bloody cheek! I would strangled a family if I could!
I was sitting between 2 ladies, which wasn't too bad. One of them was funny and quite chatty. I didn't mind talking to her after the 4 bottles of white wine which she kept ordering... She was an American woman living in Wales, and in the USA she lives in a nude camp! Very interesting! :-) I watched the 40 Year Old Virgin and Bee Season, and didn't sleep at all. I guess that's not bad for a 10 hour flight! LOL
Immigration went alright, but took forever! Every person has to be interviewed, fingerprinted and photographed! Everybody is very nice though and addresses you by your first name. My luggage had to travel on a different route, but got jammed, and I had to wait for it for 1 hour! They are just taking the piss!
Took a taxi to the hotel, and the sun had just set. Wow! The skyline!! The lights, all glittering! Very impressive! It looks like some scene out of StarTrek, like another planet! Why are US downtowns all made of piled up skyscrapers? And when you get closer, it's all office buildings and parking lots...
The hotel is nice, only my hairdryer doesn't work. I've arranged for an engineer to fix it.
Had dinner in a seafood place next door. Food here is really nice!! All fishy, and cheesy, as if I had invented it! LOL
Went to bed by 10PM, and I guess my biorhythm is not too disturbed.

Sunday

What a day!! All sunny! It's like spring! This place has a reputation for rain, so let's see what tomorrow brings...
I got up at 9, and walked around all day. Downtown is actually walkable. I even walked back and forth several times. I had clams and even managed to buy some shoes. Shoes here are much better than in England! I found one boutique with really extravagant, colourful handmade shoes that nearly made me cry!!! I want!!!
New York is drowning in snow! I was hoping Ines's flight didn't connect in NY...
Ines arrived alright, and the DID let her into the country! Relief!! We went out for dinner in the seafood place and had a nice chat. We've booked our shuttle to Getty for tomorrow and plan to have breakfast at 9. I have no idea what the training will be like. I'd rather have more sunny shopping days, LOL!

A local beer is called Manny

I'm missing even more George stuff in London while I'm here... but I knew of the LFW DJ gig anyway. At least I have booked my trip to Mantova! LOL
There's an interesting article in the Times today, bless! How lucky is he?! :-) Luck must be in our horoscope, I hope it holds for him as well this time!!

Person of the Saturday:
Cheerful Carol from Wales/Oregon

Good thing of the day:
Being here!! It's so great, I could cry! What have I done to deserve this?! ;-)
Song of Saturday:
Panic
No particular reason, I did NOT panic! LOL The song's on my MP3 player, and it's lovely!
