Quote of the day:
"Oh don't worry, I've been stabbed by lots of girls. It only really hurts when you twist it, pull it out and stick it back in."
My Name Is Earl
Thursday

I went to Frankfurt for the day! What a waste of time and money, LOL! The flight was 2 hours late, so I arrived late at the client's. They're actually in Mörfelden-Walldorf, just a few minutes from where my parents live. I know the area pretty well. I couldn't help thinking I went to school with half the people I met. I probably did!
The presentation went OK, but the client's people were still "disappointed" because I was only telling them how to use the tool and didn't give them a presentation on the whole WorkFlow. It doesn't exist yet! Maybe they were being typically German: always wanting more!
They were pissed off because they had wasted a whole day on the training and didn't want another training, as their time is precious of course. Bloody cheek! I wasn't even offered a coffee and I had just come off the plane! Halfway through I thought I was going to die of thirst. So weird -- usually you're having drinks forced at you non-stop, but if you do fancy one you don't get it...
Afterwards I went back to the airport, had something to eat and then waited in the pup for hours getting slightly drunk. Nottoo much obviously, beacuse they won't let you on the plane... ;-) The flight back was delayed as well, but at least I was being picked up by the chauffeur in Manchester. I've never talked so much to so many taxi drivers in one day! I was in bed by 1:30, and back in the office in the morning as usual, even though I didn't have to.

Friday

I was getting ready for tomorrow's trip most of the day, and also had my second interview with Amanda. It's not official yet, but she's going to offer me the job. I'll even get a pay increase! Apparently I was "in the top 4" with my test results, and the interview with Chris probably went OK as well.
Daniel did excellent in the tests and interviews which puts Amanda in a dilemma. She doesn't want him for the job, he has clearly not the right personality. (He didn't even take his anorak off in the interview...) But how is she going to justify her decision? Well, that's her problem, luckily...
Monica did very bad in the test and Amanda thinks she's not pro-active enough for the job. Another difficult decision. In the end everybody will hate me...!
Amanda also said that I will receive a bonus for my Translation Manager work last year! Surprise!! I have no idea how much those bonuses are, but it's a certain percentage of the department's profit on all the projects I helped run smoothly. It's nice to get recognition. I suppose I'm lucky that Amanda puts so much trust in me.

I've got my laptop, and myriads of clothes! I'll buy more shoes in Seattle if the need arises. They probably have much better stuff anyway. The bags are very heavy, but the "multimedia" bag which will be my hand luggage still weighs "only" 6-7 kilos. Should be OK.

I'm being picked up at 6 tomorrow morning. I should go to bed soon... But well, I'll be knackered anyway. 8 hours time difference!

Stephen has lent me his MP3 player, so I won't be without life-sustaining music! Those thingies are MAGIC! They're so small, but the play loud music! Amazing! :-)

I'm taking Stephen's camera as well. Amanda asked: "Haven't you got any devices of your own?!" Well, try getting one Stephen doesn't already own! I'll buy my own once we get divorced, LOL! Every time I mention a potential interest in any device, Stephen rushes out and buys it: The best on the market, of course!

The hotel has free internet access, so I hope I can connect the laptop asap and get back to online life! That is, if Getty let us take the laptops back to the hotel... they make an extreme fuss about security-checking them before we're allowed on their network. If I take it home and install LimeWire on it afterwards it won't make much sense...! :-D

I'll be missing a DJ gig on the 24th!! SHITE!!! I guess that means I should book my flight to Italy NOW. Still nothing confirmed, fuck! Stuey probably doesn't talk to anybody anymore, and Frank... well...
