Quote of the day:
"Why ruin a good story with the truth?"
Woody Allan
14:00  I've finally sent Edwin's tapes and CDs off. Unfortunately I had to pay 23 GBP because the parcel was 400g over weight. Tough, I wouldn't have gone back home and split it over 2 packets. I've watched this programme The Root of All Evil? about how all religions should be abolished because faith is a "process of non-thinking". I didn't agree with any of Richard Dawkins's points. It was a badly researched programme. Why is he going on about reason?! Reason is nothing. There are at least as many realities as there are people.
He's wrong to compare Christianity to Islam claiming that both simply rely on hierarchies and "ideas passed downs through history without any shred of evidence". All religious systems employ comprehensive scientific processes, and in the case of Islam the claim that it teaches its followers "no to think for themselves" is complete bollocks.
Religion apparently "threatens rational values and civilisation". As far as I know, civilisation wouldn't exist without religion, it's the best-working social system in the world! Nothing based on "rational values" has ever worked out.

Good thing of the day:
Beth said my posting of some songs turned her mind-set from drugs, and John is not swearing at me for a change... But enough of that!
Annoyance of the day:
Spent most of the day converting Windows Server 2003 SP1 glossaries for Alex. The biggest bloody glossary you can find! And the project only comprises 400 words! He kept bullying me into getting the TMs to him. Sorry, but I'm only as fast as the 2 machines I have working on it!
The TMs have about 350 MB each! What a complete waste of time.
