14:30 OK, here's where it's at:
Verdict:
Five days community service
Fine plus court costs
Rehab
God bless the internet and Paul! LOL
I got the news virtually in real-time, which also meant I got them in the
midst of work.
Work was stressful today,
not so much because I had to work a lot but because of the many scary
prospects of loads of work to come... I had a call with Amanda and Rachel
about the huge new KbTS project and Rachel broke down in tears! Now if
Rachel is crying something must be totally wrong, I was shocked! It's just
the nerves of course. Luckily we're both off next week, which will be
good!
Amanda sees a possibility that I'll be sent to Microsoft to get training
on their automatic translation tool. The languages in question are Chinese
and Korean so I won't really be able to "check the quality" of the
translation output myself, but an Asian lead would be sent as well.
Microsoft are based in Seattle though and I've already been there! LOL
I finally sent off the Getty stuff to the Brazilian freelancer, urging
her to get started on the styleguide before Monday. But it should be fine.
A few very long calls with Ines should set her on the right track. |
The verdict is still quite a big
verdict, I think. OK, he doesn't have to go to jail but otherwise it's an
impressive list. And it has been a plea bargain, which is of course not
"innocent"...not that I'd care very much. :-)
It should all be a relief, but of course it doesn't work like that. I
still feel concerned. I had wanted to buy the people at work a drink, but
then I just felt so tired and went home. Maybe later. |
