Quote of the day:

You see you can't do it, you can't collect, mount and stuff words and hang them like trophies. However pretty the display case, a butterfly pinned against a card is not the same as a butterfly in flight.
Another Stephen Fry quote from the Trefusius series -- on dictionaries

Today I went into town to buy some "posh" clothes for my many dinner club events, and for a change I was rather successful. I resisted the pull of Meadowhall and went to the boutiques around Eccleshall Road instead, which was a good idea. I found this one shop where I had never been where the prices were really great: 40 pounds instead of 345, like in some places...
I bought one dress, and one top. I still need a decent pair of trousers to go with the top, and shoes of course! Shoes are always a problem. I also bought 2 vintage dresses that I want to customize. Just have to figure out when.
Clothes shopping depresses me so. Even IF I am willing and able to spend some cash, I just can't find anything I like. And I refuse to spend a lot of money on clothes that are just a compromise.
For example you would think that it is possible to go down to the shops and buy a pair of trousers that are not black or mud-coloured, right? No! Far from it: ALL trousers in this world are black, bleak and boring. I'd take anything: red, green, even blue. But they do not exist! How frustrating!

It's been a year now...

...since the arrest.
I wouldn't even have noticed if Lees hadn't mentioned it. What a stressful year it has been! I have never fully recovered, but at least I'm off the SleepEeze now, LOL
And it looks like things are going to get "interesting" again. That Channel Four documentary is also going to be broadcast soon. LOL - It's up there with classics like "God's Nudist Camp", "The Holy Hottie" and "The Town That's Looking For Love". But what did we except?
I must get Stephen to record it on DVD as I will be at the Pigalle gig that evening!

Here are some of the paintings I have done recently. They are from a series I call "Care".
(Stephen calls them "When-will-you-stop-painting-depressing-pictures?".)
They are not really a series because the styles don't go together -- and I shouldn't really display them all on one page. The first one is the most photo-realistic, but I tried to be more naive with the others.
The shots are very bad, therefore the colours are quite wrong. You'll have to come round and look at the originals. ;-)
