Quote of the day:
"
Melissa is jealous of Darcy, and Rachel is jealous of them both. They shouldn't be. Why did Rome have a thousand-year golden era of peace? Because they were inclusive. When the Romans conquered a people, they didn't attempt to force their own religion or politics on them; nor did they kill them or cut them off from the capitol. No, Rome incorporated these disparate ways of life into itself, and the empire blossomed and there was a rainbow of ideas."

Wow, what has happened? The first week of May has come and gone and I haven't found time for a blog?!

Work. Don't mention it. I must give off the impression of somebody not able to cope who's "taking things too personal" (Amanda). But it is too much work for one, so it's probably a good idea to shift some of my projects to Muriel (who's apparently "bored").

I've been trying to diet this week, so no alcohol. Sadly my good intentions of going to the gym weren't fulfilled due to working too much and too late...
I'll try again this week.

One good thing: I've got the holidays for the last week of May signed off and we have booked the flight and hotel. That was quite a struggle on expedia.com! And how expensive is New York?! Outrageous! I hope the hotel I've picked will prove to be a good choice.

No trips this week, but next weekend I'm in London/Birmingham. Kristine and I have been trying to find out which club the Birmingham gig is at, but there's absolutely no information available! I emailed Frank and after an eternity he replied saying that he won't know which club the organizer chooses until one day before the event! Huh?! Surely the club will want to print some flyers and stuff?! Or is it a "secret" gig?! Frank has now confirmed that the gig will be at The Works, but I can't help feeling he only picked that place because Kristine and I have been suggesting it in the first place! LOL

Yesterday I had a good experience at Staples! My printer was broken (for no apparent reason, it just fucked up!!). So I remembered that I had taken out this Product Replacement Plan when I bought it, so I took the printer down to the shop to see what they could do for me. I hate these trips to the customer service, because I'm always half-expecting them to go: "Oh, but that insurance of course doesn't cover that device..." or "You'll have to send that 50-kilo device in to the manufacturer..."
But this time it actually worked. The bloke simply said: "OK, please pick any new printer in the same price range." So I did, and now I can print again! They didn't even check the old printer!

I should mention one major event that took place last weekend: I've seen Stephen in jeans! LOL
Unfortunately we still didn't manage to actually buy a pair, but he tried on a couple and hated them. ;-)

I've finally met my neighbours Jade and Michael. They were concerned that their new-born baby was making too much noise. I don't mind. They are way better than the chavs that lived in the house before them! I'd rather be woken up by a baby screaming at 4 in the morning than by Eminem!

The orthographically challenged mob on the Other Side are gearing up for a comeback. How lovely! I can't wait to be banned again...
Certain things have been pissing me off lately, just because of the general unkindness of those people. They are so obsessed with George but can't admit it. Dusty's every second post is about George! But they love slagging off the "gullible little Boy George fans" whom they suspect of sneaking on to Dusty's private- member-club forum in disguise. As if.

Everybody pretends to be oh-so cool and sexually liberated and ambiguous and kinky, but just look how shocked they are by those harmless gaydar pictures! They can't stop going on about them.
Interesting how threatening sexuality can seem to people. Funny, because what some get up to in their privacy can't really be a threat to others who are not even involved.
