In January 2007, The Mohawk Radio Show went silent as a financial crunch forced the Mohawk Radio Show Station off the air at Live365. For a while, things looked bleak in that Sound Exchange and the RIAA were looking for a way to milk Internet radio dry with outrageous rate increases. Cooler heads prevailed and the exhorbitant rates were greatly toned down. This allowed us to get back on the air in October of 2007.
We made a few changes, though. The name of the station (Mohawk Radio Show) was deemed redundant, so it was changed to Chief Jack Radio. Then, just as our audience was beginning to grow again, disaster struck as our broadcast computer was destroyed. We had to move quickly and use a backup unit to send out our live shows on Monday and Wednesday, but our massive playlist was gone.
While we were rebuilding, we used the Live365 music library to put together a (much smaller) list of songs that lasted only a few hours before being repeated. That lack of variety hurt as our listening audience shrank.
Now we have a large portion of our playlist back on and the variety you've come to love has returned as of June 2008. Please check us out again by clicking on the above banner to listen to the widest variety of music on the air today. We have new songs, old songs, music in French and Spanish 24/7, and the Cure For The Common Show every Monday and Wednesday night at 8:30 PM Pacific Time. |
