FOLLOWING IS A SHORT HISTORY OF THE CLUB:-

The Raleigh Safety Seven & Early Reliant Owners Club was formed in 1967 by a group of Safety Seven enthusiasts under the name of The Raleigh Safety Seven & Pre 1950 Reliant Owners Club, which also included the Historic Raleigh Motor-Cycle Club. Two years later the name was changed to the present one, when all side-valve powered Reliant`s were included taking it up to the Reliant Regal models. The connection between Raleigh and Reliant is that, when Raleigh were considering stopping production of three wheel vehicles in 1934, they had ceased motorcycle production in 1933,Mr T L Williams a Raleigh employee left the company and formed the Reliant company and started to produce a small three wheel commercial vehicle on the lines of the soon to be axed Raleigh van. He was aided by another former Raleigh employee Mr E.S.Thompson,their van was delivered in 1935, The range of vehicles covered by the club was further increased by the inclusion of Raleigh Moped`s, and a further extension to the Reliant range by including O.H.V, Regal models.

The range of vehicles covered are, Raleigh Motor-cycles, 1901-1907,&1920-1933, Raleigh threewheel vehicles, private & commercial, 1903-1906 & 1933-1936, Raleigh Moped`s, 1958-1971, Reliant threewheel vehicles, private & commercial, 1935-1973 O.H.V, Regal.
