Having been shunted through time due to SeeDs interference with Time compression, Hannibal shifted into their world. At first his first objective was to eliminate Squall... but something changed his mind and now he wanders the world, searching for meaning in a time where he doesn't exist, a time where he is not feared. Also the fact he can't touch SeeD is because Rinoa is the Sorceress Descendant. Thus, his master in a manner of speaking. He is very familar with SeeD and has fought them in the future, during Ultimecia's ascension to power. Hannibal's weapons are token from his family which raised him two thousand years in a future ruled by Ultimecia (Sorcerress which Squall and company defeated at the end of FF 8). The Pistols are a gift from his father, which was passed onto him at his 13th year of life. The sword, Slayer's Edge, he was given by the Sorceress herself, after his first mission.
