It`s a cute, calm and lovely duck found in Souya , the beautiful sightseeing area in the northmost part of Japan. Located in Hokkaido,  Souya is one of the famous place to taste delicious sea food, sweet corn, baked potatoes, and milk, or  ice cream. Find also giant crab, big octopus, and other `strange food`. We also can feel Russia images here, since Sakhalin is close and can reached by fery. Announcement in Souya written both in  Japanese and Russian.

Everything are clean - the beach, sea, the garden, even in front of the shops and housing, and we also can breath deeply in the fresh air . It`s very nice atmosphere which might bring us fall asleep. Really got impressed on the way they keep the environment always clean and well arranged.

I went there September, last year, when some parts of Japan were still  in summer, daily temperature in Souya was already 19 degree celcius. A little bit  cold and windy compare to Nagoya, 30 degree at that time.

I was visiting some schools in city of Wakkanai, made some interviews to the principals, vice principals, teachers, PTA`s leader, member of Teacher Union, and the staff of Educational Board. All the stakeholders have played their role significantly, build such amazing educational system in Souya which make this small district be a mini lab for studying educational practice.

Only one slogan that all the interviewees always mentioned : Education is  for the children.  Education should start and plan through full consideration of children`s condition, their behaviour, their needs, and their mind. Nothing else !

Teachers in Souya spend all days for teaching, checking student`s tasks, conducting guidance, be a club`s coach, accompanying students going back home, attending the Union meeting, discussing with peers, attending parent meeting, reading books, preparing for the next lesson, and abundant other duties. They works more than the work hours of teachers in the world !
