INTEGRATION
Art:
The molding and shaping of the materials used in constructing the model volcano could be a great art project. Everyone's model volcano would be unique and abstract. They are creating something therefore it is art!

Social Studies:
Before or after making the model volcano, talk to the students about the history of different volcanoes around the world. Ask and give facts about the largest volcano ever was, the most recent volcanoes, or where different volcanoes are from.

Mathematics:
Look up different information about volcanoes, such as dates, times, the temperature volcanoes get up to, etc. Make story problems out of the information using the numbers for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems. Another activity dealing with mathematics, could be the measurements used to create the model volcano. Talk about the difference between teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, fractions of a cup, etc.
