MAN ABOUT TOWN
A raunchy Kinks inspired number about a pub landlord and his fragile daughter. Often coupled with Chumbawunba's 'Tubthumping' and The Charlatans' 'How High'.
Matt: It was surprisingly easy to write, I just listened to a Kinks CD then I wrote it straight off. It's about everyone who lives in Ilson, when I listen back to it I recnognise little bits that are about certain people but as a whole it's about a pub landlord who could be from anywhere, even Swansea. As soon as I played it to Chris he loved it and now every time I say 'Man About Town' in rehearsals his face lights up, bless him.
Nathan: A cacthy and lively chorus, that beckons an extravagant drum fill. The offer taken up by a superb bit of stick playin' by Godja. I like the storyline.
Chris: This is my Favourite song. The song has a bouncy rhytm, the lyrics are class, the guitars together give the song a great back bone! What more can I say! O'yer Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh wuuuuuuuuuwwwwww!
Honestly, that's exactly what he said!
