TSoor Watter

I'm not exactly sure where this came from - but it's credited as "published totally unofficially by the Trossachs Inn 'Poetry And Real Ale Society' (PARAS)"of Aberfoyle - LOL !!!! The poem is a tongue in cheek reply to a plan at the time, to pipe Scottish water down South

They English are a thievin' lot
They always want whit Scotland's got
No' satisfied oor ile tae steal
They want oor watter noo as weel
But we should tell them lood and clear
An' shout it oot for a' tae hear
TSOOR WATTER

They say their crops are gaun tae die
Because their burns are runnin' dry
An' sae a pipe they want tae lay
Tae sook oor watter doon their way
But we are gaun tae pass a law
Tae stop their game, for efter a'
TSOOR WATTER !

Noo, some micht say we're awfy mean
That we'll no help oor English freens
But try tae see oor way o'it
If boot wis on the other fit
D'ye think they'd let us hae ae drap
Gey soon they'd say "we're sorry chaps"
TSOUR WATER !

Sunshine they get for weeks on end
While we walk roon like drookit hens
And then they blaw an' think it's fun
Tae boast an' say "OUR English sun
That shines from out OUR English sky"
Sae we're entitled tae reply
TSOOR WATTER !

Aye, let them blaw aboot their sun
But now their watter's nearly done
If we should let them hae their way
An' pipes tae English hooses lay
If they could sook as weel's they blaw
We'd hae nae watter left ata'
An TSOOR WATTER !

Noo, we've a plan we're pittin' forrit
Tae pit big mirrors intae orbit
That'll catch the English sun's reflection
An' beam it's rays in oor direction
Then we can say wi'oot fear
TSOOR SUN, TSOOR ILE An' whit is mare
TSOOR WATTER !

Ok - for my sassenach friends that can't manage to understand this - here's an 'English' translation !! LOL !
