Winter 2003:
Concert Percussion took 3rd place in the WGI World
Championships at Dayton, Ohio.

October 2002:
Marching band and Color Guard received 2nd place overall and
1st place in Music and Percussion in the Class AAA Field Show
Competition.

Winter 2002:
Concert Percussion won the Silver medal and the Guard was a finalist at
Dayton, Ohio.

October 2001:
Marching Band and Color Guard received 1st place in the
Preview of Champions Class AAA Field Show Competition.

1998:
Lewis Wilhelm became the band director.

1987:
Modesto High School Concert Band is the only California high
school band listed in the Historic Roll of Honor of High School Concert
Bands published by The John Philip Sousa Foundation.

Marching Band performed at the re-dedication ceremonies of the state
capitol building.

May 1978:
Marching Band won seven first-place awards as the
highest-scoring band at the International Music Festival in Vancouver, Canada.

May 25, 1929:
Concert Band placed 2nd in the National School Band Contest
in Denver, Colorado.

May 11, 1929:
Concert Band placed 1st in the California State Band
Contest.

May 26, 1928:
Concert Band placed 3rd in the National School Band Contest
at Joliet, Illinois. John Philip
Sousa was one of the judges.

May 12, 1928:
Concert Band placed 1st in the California State Band
Contest.
·
May 28, 1927:
Concert Band placed 3rd in the National School Band Contest
at Council Bluffs, Iowa (the band placed 1st in 5 of 6 categories).

Concert Band placed 1st in the California State Band
Contest.

Sept. 13, 1925:

Contest.
