Infact the Bible did not tell us that we shouldn't feel angry but it points out that it is important to handle our anger properly.  If vented thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy relationships.  If bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and destroy us from within.  St Paul tells us to deal with our anger immediately in a way that builds relationships rather than destroys them.  If we nurse our anger, we will give Satan an opportunity to divide us.

So how should we cast away anger in us?  The 1st thing that we must do is when we are feeling angry, we should bring our anger to the Lord Jesus immediately before all else and allows His peace to fill us.  For the peace of our Lord comes from heaven and can heal and lead us into forgiveness.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."  - John 14:27

The peace of God moves into our hearts and lives to restrain our anger and offer comfort in place of conflict.

Infact if we do not allow God's peace to fill us up, our anger will not go away and it will most likely cause us to sin; to speak ill of, to take vengence on and at times it might lead us to kill, the one who has angered us.  This is leading us into hatred and sin.  That is why we must remove anger within us immediately otherwise the devil will have a foothold on us and destroy us completely!

In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. - Psalms 4:4

Yes, be silent and search our hearts by coming before the Lord, allowing His
peace to fill us and His love to guide us into forgiving.  Our desire should not be to keep score but to love and forgive.  This is not natural - it is supernatural.  Only God can give us the strength to love as He does.  Instead of planning vengeance, pray for those who hurt you.  Yes, forgiving the one who has made us angry and move on with our life;  that is the 2nd thing that we will have to do.

Love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. - 1 Corinthians 13:5

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.  ......Live in harmony with one another. ..... Do not repay anyone evil for evil.  Becare to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.  Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written:  "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.  On the contrary:
                             "If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  -
Romans 12:14 - 20

As we can see from the verses above, God is teaching us how to handle our lives when someone did us wrong.  It isn't dwelling on anger and taking vengeance that matters but godly forgiveness.  Forgiveness that is covered with the love of God.  It may seem difficult for us to forgive but if we allow the Spirit of God in us to guide us in godly love, we can do it.  Afterall, the second greatest commandment that the Lord Jesus gave us is to
love your neighbour as yourselfSo we must!

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law.  The commandments, "Do not commit adultery,"  "Do not murder,"  "Do not steal,"  "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule:  "Love your neighbour as yourself."  Love does no harm to its neighbour.  Therefore love is the fulfilment of the Law. - Romans 13:8 - 10

And let's not forget that,

"If we do not forgive others, our Father in heaven too will not forgive us of our sins." - Matthew 6:14 - 15

If we really love God, forgiving others and loving them isn't too difficult especially when we were to take a look at the Lord Jesus for what He had done for us when He died for our sins on the Cross but still forgives and love us.  Loving and treating your enemies well will truly show that Jesus is Lord of our lives.  This is only possible for those who give themselves fully to God because only He can deliver us from natural selfishness.

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. - Philippians 1:27

Therefore, whenever we feel angry, we must always let God come into the picture and take over from there.  This itself is living in accordance to what God has taught us.
"In your anger do not sin" :  Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold." - Ephesians 4:26 -27
