Welcome fellow children of God! Glad that you have been living by faith in God through our Lord Jesus.
And to keep our spiritual fire burning in us, we must continue to dwell richly in the Word of God and do what It says so as to store for ourselves treasures in heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
We must not be tempted to give up our spiritual identity in Christ just for the 'goodness' of present time but rather continue to perservere on in our faith, be it during good times or bad, so as to win the Crown of Life from our Father who loves us.
Don't let ourselves be deceived into chasing after wealth, acceptance, recognition, power, and influence. And do not let our self-pride and ego get the better of us. All these are modern day's idols. Rather keep our eyes on Christ who is our Judge and Deliverer.
If we value our own independence more than dedication to God, we have placed an idol in our hearts. Soon our lives become temples to that god. We must constantly regard God's first claim on our lives and all our desires.
Therefore we must identify these idols in our hearts, renounce them and turn to God for His love and mercy.
We must also keep a tight rein on our tongues. Although it is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts and corrupts the whole person in us and will destroy our life and our faith. Whoever loves God must learn to keep a tight rein on his tongue.
When we are able to control all these; the cravings of our hearts, the lust of our eyes and the boasting of our tongues, we will indeed be able to stand firm in our faith in God. This will only be possible if we allow the Spirit of God to take control of our lives and we, living in God's love, must always let God's will be done in us.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
